When you look in the mirror, who’s looking back?
Anxiety.
Hypersensitivity.
Emotional distress.
All these things happen when you concentrate on how others see you. Or on how you think they see you. Eventually, what you’re “seeing” clouds reality.
You struggle fiercely to like yourself; but, often, the only things not obscured are the bad.
It’s a vicious cycle of self-criticism.
It robs you of life’s joys. Even your sense of who you are.
And it’s terrifying. The fear of losing identity is like no other. Can you ever get it back?
You can.
You’re never too far away from your true self.
It just takes time.
Time to recover that beautiful soul that’s been hiding for far too long.
Why is this such an issue in my life?
Some people develop low self-esteem in childhood, but it’s also common to develop these issues over time.
Could that be you?
Did someone put unrealistic expectations on you to be “perfect”?
Did a negative childhood experience shape the way you look at yourself?
Has a bad breakup shattered your self-confidence?
Those things don’t have to define you anymore.
Change your focus.
You are important.
You are beautiful – valuable – worthwhile.
You can break free from anything holding you back.
Don’t allow fear to hide you forever.
