Couples Therapy

Passionate. Magical. Blissful. Euphoric.

“We were perfect for each other. When we first met, everything seemed like a fairy tale romance. He was the one. I really thought we’d be together forever…”

She loved him. From the moment they met, everyone said they were made for each other. They were young but optimistic and determined, and she had meant every vow.

They couldn’t wait to be together. Every decision – jointly made. Discovering each other and creating a home together had been amazing.

And the lovemaking?

Thrilling. Surprising. Mind-blowing.

But… reality had set in.

Life became hard, communication broke down, intimacy faded.

Suddenly, the passion was gone.

A nagging question kept rolling over in the back of her mind: “Surely, it isn’t over, is it?”

She was devastated.

He was devastated.

All their hopes and dreams – shattered.

After weeks of languishing in isolation and despair, she finally reached out to her friends who suggested talking to a professional.

“No!” she snapped. “Therapy can’t help. We’re too far gone.”

Things kept getting worse and worse until loneliness took its toll.

“Too far gone.”

Broken, she pulled out her phone and began searching for divorce lawyers.

But something – a single shred of hope – stopped her.

No one is ever “too far gone” for help, especially people who once were madly in love with each other. She changed the words in the search bar: “Couples Therapy.”

Making that call was gut-wrenching, but she knew she had to give it one last try.

He was hesitant, at first – but decided to go.

And the healing began…

Each week, they came in together, gradually let down their defense mechanisms, and started sharing openly about their deepest feelings – and their struggles.

They barely spoke anymore – just two people wandering around aimlessly in the same house. When they did talk, they argued. And they were good at it.

Building back the trust and learning effective ways to share their needs and feelings took top priority.

Intimacy took a little longer, but eventually became something they looked forward to.

They worked together.

They allowed another person into their world to help them make it.

And –

They fought hard for their marriage.

Couples therapy can be incredibly powerful and a way to repair what feels broken in the marriage.

My role is to be an encouraging force, an expert guide to help you uncover new aspects of one another, and a calming observer as you discover the marriage you never knew existed.
