FAQ

Where is your office located?

3754 Lavista RoadSuite 200Tucker, GA 30084

You may want to omit the suite number from your GPS. Several clients have mentioned that if you include the suite number, it could take you to a nearby building.

What are your hours?

My hours vary, but my earliest appointment is at 9:00 a.m., and my latest is usually at 7:00 p.m.

However, I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.

How long are your sessions?

Each session is 50 minutes long.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask that you provide me with 24 hours’ notice.

If you miss a session without cancelling or cancel with fewer than 24 hours’ notice, my policy is to collect the standard session fee (unless we both agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control).

If possible, I will try to find another time to reschedule your appointment.

How do I pay for services?

Empowered Minds Counseling, LLC, takes any form of credit or debit card – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.

We do not accept cash or check.

Payment is due at the beginning of each service.

How do I contact you?

You can reach out to me either by phone or email.

If I’m with a client or otherwise unavailable, you may leave me a message or send me an email. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible, and I’m quick to respond.

What is your confidentiality policy?

Confidentiality is integral to the therapy process.

Unless you give me written permission, I will not give any information about you to anyone.

However, there are specific times when the law requires me to give information about you with or without your consent:

To comply with subpoena or court order
To report known or suspected instances of abuse, exploitation, or neglect of children and elders
To warn another person that you have threatened his or her life
To report when you are a danger to your own life

How do I know if you would be a good fit?

I invite you to call me for a 15-minute consultation.

You can tell me what brings you to therapy and ask as many questions as you have.

Once we agree that we’re a good fit, we’ll set up your initial appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance.

However, if you’d like to use out-of-network benefits with your insurance company, I’ll provide you with a superbill at the end of each month.

Can I cuss in sessions? Will you be offended?

I’ve created a safe environment for you – come and be exactly who you are.

You’re free to speak however you like and to express yourself openly.

Don’t worry; you won’t offend me.

You list yourself as providing “Christian Counseling” as a service. Are you one of those Bible thumping, shove it in your face, know it all’s?

No, I am not that type of therapist. I will never shove religion on anyone, and I never go there if my clients don’t want to. Unless you specifically asked me for Christian counseling, you would never know that I am a woman of faith.

Personally, my faith has helped me through many of my own trials in life. However, I do not pretend to have all of the answers.

It’s extremely important that I be very clear and upfront about this topic. I know it can be triggering for some people, and I want my clients and me to be on the same page.
